Roadtrip part 4: Phoenix to LA!

So after sleeping for about 5 hours, we woke up in Mesa and hit the road by 10am. it was ok to get a late start since we were 8 hours ahead of schedule, and 600 miles farther than planned. For lack of a better word, we were giddy. We were giddy because we were alive, and had slept in a 5 star hotel for free and were almost to our destination. It was raining when we left Mesa but it was very on and off, which was more than fine. Hey, it wasn't snow. We were zooming along route 10 through the most beautiful scenery we had ever seen, this trip and any. About 30 miles outside california we stopped for gas and saw an entire family huddled around a mini van trying to convince a 3 year old to unlock the car and let them in. It was hilarious. We entered California at around noon surrounded by the same beautiful mountain and desert and on and off rain. Once we gor to Coachella, CA (where the coachella music festival is held) the rain picked up a bit and followed us all the way to LA on the 10. Guess what? CALIFORNIANS CAN'T HANDLE THE RAIN! The rain started to get kind of heavy and everyone on the 10 slowed down to about 20 miles an hour, so it took us a bit longer than planned to get into the Los Angeles area. Finally we did, but I didnt get to my brothers apartment for another hour and a half because we decided to get lost for a bit, well the directions decided to get us lost for a bit, I had nothing to do with it (even though i was driving...)... Finally, we found Gardener street where a key would be waiting for me outside because Ben and Julie were at IKEA. HAHAHAH, not that simple...wrong key. SO i waited otuside for about an hour until they got home. It was ok because I was out of the car and it wasnt snowing or raining. Now I am in LA for the entire month of January before i begin my global excursions. Now I am watching them put together furniture. Its better than watching the road.
Whew.
